Will U.S intervene in Kashmir territorial conflict ?

Recently, the relations between Pakistan and India have been deteriorated due to the clashes between Pakistani security forces and Indian soldiers in Kashmir. However, the ceasefire between two sides have been taken place yesterday morning along the Bhimber Gali sector of frontier Poonch district, about 185 km southwest of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian- controlled Kashmir. Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif believes that if U.S intervenes in resolving Kashmir conflict, it will be settled easily and fairly since U.S is considered as the good strategic partner of Pakistan and the close economic partnership of India .

Historically, the Kashmir conflict has been considered as the longest and bloodiest territorial conflict in the world and it's also known as the core issue between these two nations. The depute had been emerged since 1947 after the decolonization of Great Britain from British-India, and this British-controlled land were also divided into two India and Pakistan along with the religious lines. Actually, Kashmir was a princely state, and it was claimed by both states even though it was a Muslim majority State. Most people believed that the Kashmir state should have been acceded to Pakistan. Because of the unclear territorial division of Kashmir, depute between these two nations has been remained unsettled since that time and caused thousands of people died.

In my point of view, Pakistani leader really needs the third party to involve mediating between his neighboring country and his Pakistan. Specifically, Pakistan might see the important role of the U.S in settling the territorial depute between two nations in Middle East Palestine and Israel recently. Besides seeing the vital role of U.S, both Pakistan and India have been known as the Nuclear power countries, and the rapid development of Indian nuclear bombs recently is to become the most dangerous thing for Pakistan if the depute remains unsolved. But will India agree and accept US’s mediation as Pakistan wanted?

Commonly, India will not agree to accept the U.S mediation and Indian leader believe that the involvement of the third party must be considered as the interference in the regional conflict and it must waste of time to seek for others to help. Furthermore, U.S ‘s intervention will also become a pressure for India, and India itself will lost its interest which gain from that conflict with Pakistan if U.S intervenes. Based on the bilateral relation between U.S-India, U.S will also reject seeking intervention from Pakistani leader since India has been a close partnership of U.S in term of politic, economic, and security. If U.S decides to take action and involve in this territorial conflict, it will deteriorate the diplomatic relations between U.S itself and India. Also U.S might take much more advantages from India than Pakistan since India is known as the newly super power in East Asia.
